Dr. Gary Lazarus is the owner and Chief Surgeon of Rippowam Animal Hospital. He graduated Veterinary School from the University of Pretoria-Onderstepoort, South Africa in 1989. After working as an emergency clinician in a busy urban clinic, he immigrated to to the United Statesin 1990.
He started working at Rippowam Animal Hospital soon after arriving in America and purchased the practice in 1993. He has made major upgrades to the hospital over the years making it into what it is today, a State-of-the-Art facility offering top notch medical and surgical care for your pets.
He practices both medicine and sugery, most recently expanding his skills by becoming proficient in ultrasound as well as both rigid and flexible endoscope. He lives in Stamford with his wife, 2 daughters, 4 Scottish Terriers, a Bengal Cat, an African Grey Parrot and many tropical fish.
Dr. Kathleen Meenan graduated Magna Cum Lauda from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor degree in animal science. She then received her doctorate of Veterinary medicine from Kansas State University.
She began working at Rippowam Animal Hospital in 2000. In 2002 she completed her first course in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation and wanting to expand treatment options for her clients, she pursued Veterinary Chiropractic. In 2005 she began an extensive course in Animal Chiropractic and is now Board Certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Dr. Meenan has also been practicing emergency since 2005.
She lives in Norwalk with her husband, father, 3 sons, 4 dogs, 5 cats and 8 horses.
